Quick Answer
You save by choosing Save at a Crystal Monument. Resting at the same monument heals you but does not save. The first Crystal Monument is on your left, right behind the wooden barrier at the start.
The first Crystal Monument, just past the wooden barrier.

Break the wooden barrier blocking the starting path, then look left. The Crystal Monument stands right behind it.
| Crystal Monument | Where | When you reach it |
|---|---|---|
| First monument | Left of the path, behind the starting wooden barrier | Right after the campfire, where you get the rusty sword |
More monuments sit along the route; this table grows as the walkthrough fills in.
Break the barrier
Hit the wooden barrier on the path until it breaks.
Turn left
The Crystal Monument is right there on your left.
How do you save at a Crystal Monument?
Pick Save. Rest is a separate option.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Save | Records your progress |
| Rest | Restores health, clears bad status effects, brings most normal enemies back |
Resting does not save. Pick Save every time you stop at a monument, even if you also rest.
What happens when you die?
You go back to your last save. Anything you did after that save is gone, so save after a hard fight or a good item.
Where players get stuck
- Lost progress after dying: you rested but never picked Save.
- Enemies came back: resting respawns most normal enemies; save, then decide if you need to rest.
