Combat

You win fights in Queen's Domain by letting your Power Meter recover and charging attacks during safe openings. Watch enemy attack patterns instead of rushing consecutive swings. Your weapon's special attack has its own charging conditions, separate from holding a normal attack.

Power Meter (Stamina)

The Power Meter is Queen's Domain's stamina bar. You deal stronger melee hits when the yellow Power Meter has recovered. Swinging as soon as possible trades damage for speed. Land a hit, create space, and let the bar refill while you watch the enemy's next move.

You can also improve your character's strength outside individual fights:

  • How to level up: You earn EXP from kills; leveling automatically increases maximum Life Points and Attack Power.
  • Food: You can improve attributes with food; Broiled Meat permanently increases Attack Power slightly.

Charge Attacks

You charge an attack by holding the attack button, then release it to strike. The blue charge indicator builds while you hold. Use this when you have time before the enemy's next attack. Charging while an enemy winds up nearby risks an interruption.

Charge attacks are not the same as the demo's dash exploit, a rusty sword thrust followed by a jump. Whether the dash exploit still works is covered separately.

Special Attacks

You charge weapon specials through their own meters; some fill over time, while others fill as you attack. For applicable weapons, the Weapon Special Meter appears beside the Wind Dash Meter. Azure Torch also shows charging cues on its model.

The Holy Sword Endu gets its own Special Attack Meter once you pick up the Storm Gem in the Tower of Knowledge.

Where players get stuck

  • Hits do little damage: you are swinging before the Power Meter refills.
  • Charge attack gets interrupted: you started charging while the enemy was winding up.
